How many roses to cover an abyss #10 Survey 1, detective A

(Investigative Reports, pp. 33-34-35-36-37-38)

April 21 2016

In this account, we will very often be moving alongside the investigators. We will follow what they wrote in their reports after carrying out inspections at Paisley Park. This is the best way to get a clear picture of events, without chasing after fanciful reconstructions that are almost always unfounded.

At times, the reports I will be analyzing will resemble one another — for example, each detective explains the reason for the call they received and their time of arrival, then describes what they did, saw, or learned.

Sometimes, therefore, the accounts are similar to one another, but very often different details emerge, because those descriptions come from different sets of eyes — eyes that may be moving through the same environment, but speaking to different people, and from which different situations consequently emerge.

The reports are very similar to one another, but they are not identical. It is worth pausing over each one and reading it carefully. That is the methodological note.

I will not be including the surnames of the investigators, which I do have in my possession. They are not that important, and in any case they appear in the official documents, which I believe are still available online.

Let us begin with a summary of the report written by one of the first detectives to arrive at Paisley on the morning of April 21. We will call him Detective A.

First of all, as nearly all the others will do in writing their reports, Detective A explains when, how, and why he arrived at Paisley on the morning of April 21.

He confers with some colleagues, who have just arrived like him, on what to do, and immediately begins inspecting the premises.

He reaches the reinforced door of the Vault, which is locked. No one seems to have the combination, however.

(weeks later, the Vault will be forced open by a technician from the company that built it — the same company that manufactures bank vaults)
