 Welcome!

Speaking of Prince is a blog where I share my writing and research on Prince Rogers Nelson. It is an archival work based on sources: interviews and documents relating to the investigation into his death.

I will also tell you about my creative work, always centered on him: the novel I recently published, in both Italian and English, and the one I am currently writing.

Follow me if you are interested.

There are two protagonists: Skip (aka Prince Rogers Nelson) and Shara. Skip is the nickname Prince’s mother, Mattie, gave him as a child. Shara’s name does not come right away. She does not tell us what her name is. Her name is given to her by Skip and derives from Scheherazade, because throughout the story he often asks her to read books to him and tell him stories. And so: Shara.

At times, the reports I will be analyzing will resemble one another — for example, each detective explains the reason for the call they received and their time of arrival, then describes what they did, saw, or learned. Sometimes, therefore, the accounts are similar to one another, but very often different details emerge, because those descriptions come from different sets of eyes — eyes that may be moving through the same environment, but speaking to different people, and from which different situations consequently emerge. The reports are very similar to one another, but they are not identical. It...
